Ima Jean Sanders

Ima Jean Sanders, age 76, of Gatesville, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Restland Cemetery. Ima Jean was born on June 15, 1940 in Waco, Texas to the late Earl Wright and Sarah Sowders Wright. She graduated from University High, in Waco, TX. Ima Jean married Robert Earl Sanders on August 26, 1960, in Waco, TX. She was a bus driver for G.I.S.D. for many years. Ima Jean was an avid reader. She also loved to play bingo. She and Betty Maynard have played bingo together for over 30 years, all over central Texas. Ima Jean will be remembered for her jokes. She was a mom to many children, beside her own. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were what brightened her life the most. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; twin brother, Bobby Dean Wright; and sister, Opal Wilson. Ima Jean is survived by her daughter, Sarah Tyroch; sons, Monty Sanders and wife, Christal, Carlton Sanders and wife, Jan; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Williams of Rowlett, TX, Myrtle Pittman of Lancaster, SC; and brothers, Marvis Wright of Dallas, TX, Ronnie Wright of Lawton, OK.
