James W. Featherston, Sr.

James Featherston, age 66, of Gatesville, passed away at his home on Friday, June 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Conger and Rev. Ray Featherston officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the funeral home. James William Featherston, Sr. was born on February 3, 1951 to the late Rev. J.B. and Mary Helen Featherston in Gatesville, Texas. James attended school at McGregor High and Gatesville High School. He lived most of his life working as a mechanic and was the owner/operator of Featherston Wrecker Service in the latter part of his life. James was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Jim and Mary Helen Featherston; and great-grandparents, Fain and Ruby Featherston, and William and Pauline Vail. James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jacquelyn Featherston; daughters, Carrie Perez and husband, Tony, Dana Lewis and husband, Michael, and Tricia Ryan; son, J.W. Featherston, Jr. and wife, Brandy, all of Gatesville; sister, Deborah Conger and husband, Wayne of Vian, OK; grandchildren, DeAnna Ryan, Ginger Pimento, Zachery Raines, Lisa Pimento, Blane Featherston, Alex Chasteen, Levi Featherston, Will Featherston, Elena Perez, and Hunter Ryan; nieces, Renee Arnold and Crystal Conger; nephew, Jesse Conger and wife, Kristi; and numerous other “daughters, sons, and grandchildren”, family members, and friends. Pallbearers include: J.W. Featherston, Jr., Will Mann, J.C. Buster, Casey Ayres, Kevin King, Dustin LeBlanc, Johnny Jackson, Ross Smart, Jason Shepard, and Todd Pierce. Honorary pallbearers include: Rick Vanjoske, Mac McDonald, Gary Jackson, Jimmy Bushong, Al Ortiz, Todd Bechtel, Howard Merritt, Bob Rhudy, Ron Bowen, and J.W. “Scoopy” Featherston.
