John Edward Bannert

John Edward Bannert, age 88, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating. John was born on May 9, 1929 in Irving, Texas to Adolf William and Helen Martha Bannert. He was raised in the Rio Grande Valley in Brownsville, Texas. After high school, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. After John graduated from the University of Houston, he met his wife and started his career in Houston, Texas. He worked as an auto insurance adjuster and was transferred by MIC (Motors Insurance Corporation) to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1970. He retired from General Motors in 1987 and moved near Hamilton, Texas. John was skilled in building and repair. He served in many churches, at several as a deacon. His greatest legacy is in the Christian Faith and Service of his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph William and Helen Martha Bannert; and brothers, William Fred Bannert, Eugene Daniel Bannert, Robert Eugene Bannert, and Daniel Floyd Bannert. John is survived by his wife, Donna Gale Bell Bannert, married June 22, 1957, one day short of 60 years; daughters, Karen Lynn Bannert Morrow and husband, Frank, Katherine Gale Bannert Edwards and husband, Brian; sons, John Edward Bannert, Jr. and wife, Micchel, Karl William Bannert and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Rachel Antoinette Bannert, Nathan Charles Bannert and wife, Glory, Nicholas Edward Bannert, Sarah Katherine Morrow, Emily Elizabeth Morrow Loachamin and husband, Noe Israel, Laurel Elise Morrow, Joseph Zachary Morrow, Karis Grace Edwards Riley and husband, Malcolm, Andrew Christopher Edwards, Hope Elise Edwards, Kurt William Bannert and wife, Macy, Kelli Christine Bannert, Scott Peyton Bannert; great-grandchild, Lane William Bannert; sisters, Helene Bannert Allen, Eleonore Bannert Dulaney, Josephine Bannert Williams; and brother, Adolph Weldon Bannert.
