Edgar Martinez

Edgar Martinez, age 15 of McGregor, passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Friday morning, July 21, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor. Burial will follow at McGregor City Cemetery. Edgar will lie in state at his home in McGregor at 1007 Buchanan Street from Saturday until service time at the church. Edgar was born on March 24, 2002 in Waco. He was a sophomore at McGregor High School and was a trumpet player in the high school band. He was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolina Jaimes. He is survived by his parents, Ruben Martinez, Sr. and Maria Lorena Perez; siblings, Ruben Martinez, Jr., Leslie Daylyn Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Eden Martinez, Jaiden Aldair Martinez; grandparents, Pedro Martinez, Gerardo Perez and Evelda Benitez.
