Patsy Ruth Day

Patsy Ruth Day, age 86, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Adams Cemetery, in Burkett, TX. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Patsy was born on February 23, 1931 in Cross Plains, Texas to the late John Aiken and Irene Simpson Aiken. She married Nattie “Rusty” Day on March 3, 1949 in Coleman, TX. They enjoyed 66 years together. Patsy was very involved in the Izoro Community and the School Creek Baptist Church. Patsy’s dishes were the first to be eaten at the pot-luck dinners. She loved life on the Ranch and spoiling her grandkids most of all. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nattie Ray Day; sisters, Dorothy, Alice, Velma, Lenora Dean, and Zalie, and brothers, Jack and Frank. Patsy is survived by her sons, Don Day and wife, Ronda, Vernon Day and wife, Janice; granddaughter, April Day; grandson, Steven Day; great-grandchildren, Christopher Steven Day, Stetson Bowmen, and Holten Bowmen; and brother, Herman Aiken.
