William D. (Jim) Dossey

William D. (Jim) Dossey, age 82, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Temple. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Flint Creek Cemetery with Rev. Lance King officiating. Jim was born on October 18, 1934 in Gatesville, to the late Weldon (Fuzzy) Dossey and Ollie Bruton Dossey. He grew up in Gatesville and married Dora Louise Morisset on July 1, 1960. They resided in Belton, moving to The Grove in 1987. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2016. He managed the turkey farm for Chafin Enterprises until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Flat. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Shannon Tomecek; and two sisters and two brothers. Jim is survived by a daughter, Brenda Tarnow and husband, Gordon of The Grove; son, David Dossey and wife, Lisa of Moffat; two sisters; three brothers; seven grandchildren, Brandon, David, Tyler, Chris, Crystal, Garrett and Evan; and six great-grandchildren, Henleigh, Skyler, Noah, Jaxson, Shannon, Scarlet; and many nieces and nephews.
