Margie was born on March 15, 1932 in the Pulltight community of Coryell County to the late J.W. and Maudie Russell McLaughlin. After their marriage, they resided in Gatesville and moved back to Jonesboro in 1976. She worked for United Telephone in Gatesville as a telephone operator supervisor. She retired from there when her husband joined the military and then started a family. She and her husband enjoyed life and travels. They roamed the Continental United States, with friends, on motorcycles, where she sometimes rode on her own bike. Once the children moved out on their own, their travels still continued. When not traveling, her and her husband farmed and ranched for many years in Jonesboro raising crops, cattle and two boys. Through all the highs and lows, they were always by each other’s side. Her husband preceded her in death on April 11, 2016. She was also preceded in death by a son, Carl Beechly, in 1988. She is survived by a son, Curtis Beechly and his wife, Dawn; sister, Dorothy Mason and husband, LaVerne; four grandchildren, Jackie Morgan and husband, Billy, Brittany Beechly, Chad Beechly, and Taylor Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Cory and Carly Morgan.
