Patsy Virginia Fowler

Virginia Fowler, age 81, of Gatesville passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 in Hamilton. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Virginia was born on December 1, 1935 to the late Rob and Pat Milaway Woodson in the Ewing Community outside of Gatesville which in now part of North Fort Hood. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1953. Virginia married John Fowler May 25, 1957. She retired from Civil Service on Fort Hood after more than 30 years of service. Virginia loved the Lord and enjoyed listening and singing the old hymns. She looked forward to the annual Thanksgiving River Walk with family and always enjoyed her trips to the beach. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John Fowler; son, Johnny Fowler; brothers, Jack Woodson, R.L. Woodson; and a sister, Betty Byrom. Virginia is survived by her sons, Robert Fowler and wife, Kelly of Gatesville, Steve Fowler and wife, Kelli of Conroe; brother, Mike Woodson and wife, Trudy; sister, Mary Voss; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend of over 50 years, Pat Henson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rocking Chair Ranch, 510 CR 317, Jonesboro, TX 76538.
