Edna Marjorie (Margie) Warren, age 85, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Restland Cemetery with Chaplain Gary Baxley officiating. There is no set time for visitation. Margie was born on October 22, 1931 in Coryell County, Texas to Claude Edward Baker and Violet Ethel Ussery Baker. When Margie was three years old, her mother died. After her mother passed away, she was raised by her grandmother, Sarah Ussery, in the Plainview Community. On October 7, 1947, at the age of 15, she married Thomas Clyde (Cotton) Warren. They lived in McGregor for four years before moving to Gatesville to live out the rest of their lives. She had two children, Janet and Casey. Margie only had a 9th grade education, but after her children were born she got her GED. Along with Janet and Casey, she had many other kids that she considered hers as well like the Donahoo kids, James, Kay, Cody Lee, and Paul Lovejoy, just to name a few. She dearly loved her two grandchildren, Chris and Jed Gribble; two great-grandchildren, Breeann and Cutter Gribble; and most recently Cody and Lee Lee’s twins, Leddy Rose and Rodie Owen; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Cotton Warren; and brothers, Leo Baker and Horace Baker. Margie is survived by her daughter, Janet Wage and husband, Stephen of Temple; son, Casey Warren of Corsicana; grandchildren, Chris Gribble, Jed Gribble; great-grandchildren, Breeann Gribble, Cutter Gribble; many nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends she considered family.
