Billy Paul Edwards

Billy Paul Edwards, age 73, of Gatesville, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2017, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to service. Billy Paul was born on July 19, 1944 in Gatesville, TX to the late O. Q. and Hazel Tatum Edwards. He attended school and graduated from Denver City High School in May 1964. After high school, Billy went to Texas State Technical Institute and received a Welders Combination certification. Later in life, Billy went on and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wayland Baptist College. He went on to teach vocational classes at the Windham School District for over 14 years. Billy is probably most known for painting many houses in and around the Gatesville area. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Faye Crawford, and Effie Armor; and brothers, Jodie Edwards, Kenneth Edwards and Jerry Edwards; Billy Paul is survived by his son, Danny Paul Edwards; sisters, Lillie Stovall, Nancy Cole and husband, Jack; brother, Ollie Edwards and wife, Betty; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
