Raye Holden

William Raye Holden, age 85, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Miles Miears officiating. Burial will follow at Greenbriar Cemetery. Raye was born on February 7, 1932 in Jonesboro, Texas to the late Elmer Purl Holden and Birdie Mae Hurst Holden. He married Mildred Gillard on February 11, 1951. He was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ella Mae Hollingsworth, Mary Estelle Boynton, and Neoma Pearl Southerland; and brothers, Travis Elmer Holden, Ernest Roy Holden, and Arthur Raymond Holden. Raye is survived by his wife, Mildred Holden; daughter, Ponice Hartman; sons, David Holden and wife, Tamera, Glen Holden; brother, Garlan Holden and wife, Gaenelle; eight grandchildren, Clesia, Kyle, Lance, Amy, Rena, Lauren, Trevor, and Erica; and 18 great-grandchildren.
