Franklin Monroe Doolin, age 90, of Gatesville, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 with his beloved wife by his side. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Hillside Medical Lodge. He was born February 16, 1927 in Knobel, Arkansas to the late Berry Doolin and Annie Peters Doolin, the 10th of their 11 children. Frank was a longtime owner and operator of an 18-wheeler truck. He had over 60 years of driving experience, two 100 million miles rings, but there were more miles under his belt, and at least that many stories. He was loved by whoever met him and always had a story or two to tell. He never met a stranger and knew how to treat a lady. His heart was as big as Texas. At 89, he remarried the beautiful Margie Kline on October 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Doolin, and second wife, Florence Doolin. He is survived by his wife, Marge Doolin; daughters, Teresa from Arkansas and Marqumia Frederick and husband, Howard of Gatesville; sister, Charlotte from Washington; and many grandchildren. He was someone you would never forget and always left you with a smile on your face. He will be truly missed by all.
