Jimmy D. Miles

Jimmy D. Miles, age 72, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Laney officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Jimmy was born on November 26, 1945 in Washington, D.C. to the late Ivan and Velda Chambers Miles. He grew up in Lancaster, Texas and graduated from Lancaster High School. He married Sandra Crowder on May 6, 1967. They resided in Duncanville and he worked for Texas Utilities in Dallas, as an accountant, retiring after 38 years of service. After his retirement, they moved to Gatesville in 2003. He was a member and Deacon of Live Oak Baptist Church. He enjoyed his retirement and had a love and passion for his grandchildren, along with playing golf and being a Ham Radio Operator. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Mary Ellen. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Miles; daughter, Stacy Swindall and husband, Brent; son, Trenton Miles; one brother, Ralph Miles and wife, Brenda; two sisters, Linda Edmiston and husband, Richard and Peggy Imbert and husband, Mark; two grandchildren, Sadie and Zach Swindall; seven nieces and one nephew.
