Virtis E. (Pete) Snow

Virtis E. (Pete) Snow, age 89, of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Turnersville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home. Pete was born on January 15, 1928 in Arnett, Texas to the late Andrew and Minnie Wilkins Snow. He grew up and attended school in Arnett. After school, he worked for Dixon Lumber Yard before joining the US Army. After his service in the Army, Pete went to work on Ft. Hood as a civil engineer, retiring in 1976. Pete loved to fish, and most of all hunt arrow heads. Pete loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids. Pete will be remembered for his laugh, he loved to laugh. His favorite pastime was sitting on the porch talking to neighbors and telling stories. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby; and brother, Elmer. Pete is survived by his daughters, Linda Cundari and husband, Dominic, and Debra Jensen; grandchildren, Keith Snow, Cory Jensen, Shannon Stevens, and Nickolas Cundari; great-grandchild, Colton Stevens; step-children, Edna Whitney, John Tobin, Lois Whitley, Lesley Tobin, and Douglas Tobin; nephew, Larry; and niece, Pat.
