Doyle Lee Springer

Doyle Lee Springer, age 88, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Pidcoke Cemetery with Jason Cordell officiating. Doyle “Sonny Boy” and his twin sister were born on December 27, 1929 in Tom Green County, Texas to the late Earl Rennie Springer and Beulah Ethel Medart Springer. Doyle was a plumber for 65 years, and owned his own plumbing business. He married Ann Patricia Mertens on January 4, 1961 in San Diego, Texas. He was a member of Copperas Cove Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, and was very instrumental in building the church. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, R.L. Springer; son, Billy Earl Springer; sisters, Barbria McDonald, and his twin, Dollie D. Thornton. Doyle is survived by his wife, Ann Springer; children, Barbara Gray, Brenda Nwosisi, Debbie Springer, Becky Foreman, Deanna Springer-Cordell, Brian Springer and wife, Melissa; Bruce Springer and wife, Terri; sister, Bonnie Farris, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
