Dorothy McCorkle

Dorothy Jean McCorkle, age 90 of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Temple. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Cornerstone Church in Gatesville, with Pastor Greg Demmitt officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Dorothy was born on December 13, 1927 in Levita, to the late James Ernest and Erna Elva Wolfe McCorkle. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1947. She worked for many years at the Coryell County Tax Assessor Collector office and then for Coryell Memorial Hospital in the business office in the payroll department until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Cornerstone Church, formerly the Church of God Faith of Abraham. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wilda Hammer; brother, Billy Wayne McCorkle. She is survived by her brother, James McCorkle; sister, Anita Zirkelbach and husband, Thomas; nieces and nephews, Kathy Ford, Cherie Weiss, Peggy Davidson, David McCorkle, Tammy Berry, Tommy McCorkle, Debbie Johnson, Cindy Posey, Becky Landes and Vickie Baugh.
