Lottie Marie Babbitt

Lottie Marie Babbitt, age 79, of Waco, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at a Waco hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville with Rev. Joe. W. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the Walker Cemetery at Ft. Hood. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Lottie was born on January 21, 1930 in Arnett, Texas to the late Harrol and Lola Durham Rodgers. She married Jim Henry (J.H.) Babbitt on January 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1974. She married Ben Pettit on March 21, 1983. She attended nursing school in Hamilton, where she graduated as an LVN in 1974. She later worked for Kentucky Central Life Insurance Company. She achieved many awards in her 20 years in the insurance business. She was a member of Speegleville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, J.B. Rodgers and a sister, Lois Hailey. She is survived by her husband, Ben Pettit; children, Jimmie Harrol Babbitt and wife Katherine; Donna McGee and husband Jerry, Gary Babbitt and wife Jody, and Dennis Babbitt and wife Karen; a sister, Virginia Petrey; a brother, Bobby Rogers; grandchildren, Michael Babbitt and wife Brenda, Kellie Babbitt Bradshaw and husband David, Bryan McGee and wife Bethany, Stacie Craig and husband Frank, Kristen Bracken and husband Collin, Erinne Babbitt, Melanie Babbitt, Amber Babbitt, and Korie Babbitt; and great grandchildren, Talor Babbitt, Kaela Babbitt, Brittany McGee, Brandon McGee, Hunter Tyson, Cutter Tyson, Kenneth Craig, Rachael Craig, Keegan Craig, Ashton Bracken, Jackson Bracken, Hanna Bracken, Dylan Tisdale, Chelsie Underwood, Jimmie Ryan Underwood, and Lyndsie Underwood .
