Irene Boling Farris

Irene Farris, age 93 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at a local hospital. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Levita Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Mrs. Farris was born on April 6, 1916 in Ireland, Texas to the late Tom and Fronia Moore Boling. She attended school in Ireland and was a member of the Purmela Methodist Church. She married Joe Drew Farris on March 23, 1940 in Gatesville. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1971. She lived in San Angelo for 15 years and in Ft. Worth for 15 years before returning to Coryell County. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter, Patsy Jo Barnes on March 19, 1997, a son, Richard Farris, and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son in law, W.A. Barnes of Pearl; her grandson, Earl Barnes and wife Beverly of Evant; great grandsons, Luke Barnes and wife Stephanie of Hillsboro, and Drew Barnes of Stephenville; and one great-great granddaughter, Mollie Ann Barnes of Hillsboro.
