Donald "Donny" Ray Kuykendall

Donald "Donny" Ray Kuykendall, 53, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Community Care Center in Seymour. Services will be Friday, January 22, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., at Scott's Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Clark, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas. Donny was born May 11, 1956 in Gatesville, Texas to Robert Dorman and Waldeen Hunt Kuykendall. He attended school in Midland. Donny moved to Gatesville in 1976 to work with his uncle, learning his trade, which later became his remodeling business in Seymour. He left Gatesville in 1983, moving to Henrietta, where he worked as a Paint and Body repairman. He made his home in Seymour in 1989. Donny was a master craftsman. He made a lot of friends in Baylor County. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, gardening, and loved to cook for his family and friends. He was known for his immaculate appearance and easy going personality. He will be remembered for his sweet nature and willingness to help others. Donny was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dorman Kuykendall; a sister, Rita Kay Kuykendall; his paternal grandparents, John and susie Kuykendall; his maternal grandparents, Ruel and Jessie Hunt; a niece, Misty Lynn McLain; and two nephews, Robert Dale Kuykendall and Kenneth Dale Kuykendall, Jr. He is survived by: Mother - Waldeen Kuykendall of Gatesville 3 Brothers - Bobby Kuykendall of Odessa; Matthew Kuykendall of Midlnad; and Kenneth Kuykendall of Odessa 4 Sisters - Suzy Harris of Midland; Carol Stith of Evansville, Indiana; Anita McLain of Wichita Falls; and Ann Powell of Austin In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
