Daniel Dwayne Coward, 63, of Denton, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born on December 24, 1946 to Dan Monroe Coward and Myrna Cantrell Coward in Gatesville, TX. He graduated from Gatesville High School and attended the University of North Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Denton, was the founder of CBS Mechanical from 1971-1982, and was the president of BCI Mechanical from 1984 until present. Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, from 5-7 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A memorial service will be Friday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Denton with Matt Gaston officiating. Burial will be at the Ater Cemetery in Gatesville, TX, Saturday, March 6 at 11 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Denton; Ater Cemetery Association, C/O Carmon Alexander, 605 CR 195, Jonesboro, TX 76538; or to a charity of your choice. Dan is survived by his daughter, Diana Roblyer and husband Brad; son, Greg Coward and wife Julie; former spouse of 41 years, Carolyn Coward; brother-in-laws, Johnny Schloeman of Granbury, and Phillip Gamble and wife Melanie of Fort Worth; three nephews, Mike Schloeman and wife Kim of Krum, John Travis Schloeman and wife Teresa of Granbury; and Corey Gamble and wife Ginger of Indianapolis, IN; niece, Andrea Gamble of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Lauren and Clayton Roblyer, and Kennedy Coward; and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Myrna Coward; and sister, Loleita Coward Schloeman.
