Hattie Brueggemann, 76, of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Austin. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Hartsell Family Cemetery on CR 266 with Rev. A.C. Painter officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at Scott’s Funeral Home. Hattie was born on January 3, 1934 to the late Lonnie S. and Maggie (Robbins) Hartsell in McGregor, Texas. She attended school in Oglesby, Texas graduating in 1952. After moving to Coryell County, she met and later married Mart (Son) Brueggemann on January 4, 1953 in Moody, TX. They made their home on the family farm until she went to be with the Lord. Hattie loved being a mom and grandmother, spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking delicious desserts that she made with pecans harvested from her trees on the farm. She took joy in making a favorite dessert for each family member and friend on their birthdays, holidays and anytime she was proud of them. She loved her husband, family,and friends deeply and the love for her, by them, was just as strong. She was a member of Coryell Valley Baptist Church during the earlier years of her life and is a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Son Brueggemann; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by daughters, Sandra Clark and husband John, Crystal Walker and husband Larry; brother, Kenneth Hartsell; sisters, Edith Cantrell, Deca Campbell; one adored granddaughter, Mariah Walker and many nieces and nephews.
