Benita Inez Womack, age 97, of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gatesville. The family will receive visitors at Scott’s Funeral Home from 9-10:00 A.M. Friday morning. Mrs. Womack was born to the union of the late Dan and Lena Brown on July 26, 1912 in Gatesville, Texas. She grew up and lived most of her life in Gatesville. She married Lucious Womack in February of 1946 in Gatesville. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1974. She was a Housekeeper at Coryell Memorial Hospital for many years. She loved playing the piano and organ. Mrs. Womack was honored for her playing three years ago with a concert given by the Gatesville High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Red Chapter. She had a happy, peaceful life and was always loving and caring in her ways and thoughts. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gatesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers and sisters, Tanza Chappel, Elqe Brown, Rufus Brown, Pecolia Nunn, James Brown, and Glen Dale Brown. Mrs. Womack leaves to mourn a son, Jerry Bob Womack and wife Ruby of Austin; a grandson Justin Thomas Womack and wife Katherine of Baytown; and one great grandson, Justin Womack, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Womack’s family would like to express their gratitude to Doak Smith and all his staff at Hillside Manor Nursing Home for their loving care and attention.
