Eldred Joe Pearson

Eldred Joe Pearson, age 84, of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Scotts Funeral Home with Jim Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Ireland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Joe was born on September 14, 1925 in Lytton Springs, Texas to the late Samuel and Alta Mercherson Pearson. Joe and his first wife Mildred did a lot of traveling with the Airstream Club. She preceded him in death. He later married Jean Marie Strickland. Joe served in the US Coast Guard. He worked as an electrician for Gulf Oil and Chevron. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly football and boxing. He was a member of the Gatesville Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mildred, and four siblings. Joe is survived by his wife Jean Marie Pearson; daughter, JoAnn Juneau; 2 step-children; and 8 step-grandchildren.
