Oleta Adams Mullin, age 97, of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Tad Smith officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey, Texas. Oleta Adams Mullin was born on December 24, 1912 in Parnell, Texas to the late James A. and Rilla Norwood Adams. Oleta was one of seven children born to J.A. and Rilla. Oleta attended Weatherford Junior College and North Texas State Teachers College in Denton. She taught school for one year at Tampico, TX in Hall County. She married Buster Mullin on February 8, 1936 at Turkey, TX. They were married 71 years. Oleta was blessed with a keen mind, student of the Bible and was a prolific reader well into her 90’s. She gave structure, discipline and leadership to her family leaving a legacy of loving the Lord and living by His precepts. She was member of the Gatesville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Buster Mullin and her son-in-law Delbert Smith who were both lifelong Church of Christ Ministers. Oleta is survived by her two daughters, Yvonne Smith of Gatesville and Sandy Lane and husband Lawrence of San Antonio, TX; her grandchildren, Ken Smith and wife Christina of Santa Rosa, CA, Mitzi Smith of Robinson, TX, Tad Smith and wife Sherry of Belton, TX, Robin Smith and wife Karen of Farmers Branch, TX, Buster Fisher and wife Soine of San Antonio, TX, and Lori Richter and husband Skip of Lockhart, TX; 23 great grandchildren; and her sister Dorothy Taylor of Roy, NM.
