Sylvia Lynette Muniz

Sylvia Lynette Muniz, age 46 of Killeen, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at her residence. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Dr. Willie Clarke officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2-4:00 P.M. on Sunday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Sylvia was born on January 13, 1964 in Bridgeport, CT to the Nelson Wesley and Elsie May Miller Jenkins Davies. She married Ricardo Muniz in Indianapolis, IN. Sylvia joined the US Army in 1983, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1992. While in the Army Sylvia served 17 months in Korea, and 10 months in Panama. She graduated as a Respiratory Therapist, through the military, while in San Antonio in 1989. She also graduated from Temple College, with an AA in Applied Science for Respiratory Therapy, in 2006. Sylvia received an ADN for Nursing from Central Texas College in 2008. Sylvia has been a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church since 2000. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Ricardo Muniz of Killeen; daughter, Jennifer Victoria Freeman of Harker Heights; sons, Eric Ricardo Muniz of Irving, and Jerel Antonio Muniz of Killeen; and a granddaughter, Janayzha Taliyah Washington of Harker Heights.
