J.C. Brashear

J.C. Brashear, age 96, of Salado, passed away on November 11, 2010 at a Temple hospital. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Warden officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. No visitation is scheduled. Mr. Brashear was born on May 1, 1914 in Coryell County, Texas to the late Odie and Zona Fuller Brashear. He married Ruby Moody in Belton, Texas on April 1, 1935. Mr. Brashear was a mechanic by trade, and continued to enjoy working on small engines after his retirement. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Salado. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Brashear on June 20, 2007, and an infant son, Billy Gene Brashear. Mr. Brashear is survived by his daughters, Glynda Gladding and husband Nat of Washington, NC, Melba Kay and husband Robert of Caldwell, TX, Norene Frazier and husband Billy of Salado; sons, Kenneth Brashear and wife Letha of Red Lodge, MT, Jim Brashear and wife Dolores of Katy, TX; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church in Salado.
