Winnie Richardson York, age 93, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010. Graveside Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Jonesboro Cemetery. No set visitation is scheduled. Winnie Roline Richardson was born on February 20, 1917 in Ireland, TX to the late John H. and Bettie Jane Johnson Richardson. She lived through the Depression. In 1935 Winnie married Robert Archer Adams. Together they had four children, Robert Henry, Marvin Jack, David Jerry and Paula Roline. David Jerry passed away at the age of 5 from a childhood illness. Later in life she married Steve York. During the years of her life Winnie was a loving, caring person to her family and those she became friends with. She became a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary during her time spent with her husband Steve York. She worked diligently volunteering at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, TX and received many awards for her service. She loved to camp and fish and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Archer Adams, her husband Steve York, a son David Jerry Adams, a grandson Dennis Adams, and nine siblings. Winnie is survived by sons, Robert Henry Adams, and Marvin Jack Adams and wife Kay; daughter Paula Roline Landua and husband John; brother, Elmer Richardson (Missing in Action); 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; and her long time companion Delbert Moore
