Alberto Rodriguez

Alberto Rodriguez, age 77 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A Rosary, followed by a visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial at Restland Cemetery will immediately follow the service.

Alberto was born on May 11, 1947 to the late Geronimo and Paulina Escobedo Rodriguez in Apaseo El Grande, GTO, Mexico. He grew up in the small town of El Vicario, GTO, Mexico. He collected and sculpted rocks, making a variety of sculptures during his lifetime. His passion was to be outdoors. He was a stone mason, working in that profession for most all of his life. In 1969, he married Maria Luz Licea and together they made their home in El Vicario, GTO, Mexico, raising nine children. In 2003, he and his wife settled in Gatesville. Alberto loved to spend time with his family as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Alberto was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Luz Licea, of 48 years; sister, Guadalupe Rodriguez; and brothers, Juan Rodriguez, and Roman Rodriguez.

He is survived by his children, Rebeca Rodriguez and husband Francisco, Bertha Rodriguez and husband, Jesus Elias, Roberto Rodriguez and wife, Juana, Columbo Rodriguez and wife, Susana, Guadalupe Rodriguez and husband, Alfredo, Javier Rodriguez and wife, Eunice, Carlos Rodgriguez and wife, Juana, Alma Rodriguez and husband, Luis Ernesto, Luis Rodgriguez and wife, Gabriella; brothers, Antonio Rodriguez, Cristobal Rodriguez, and Procoro Rodriguez; sisters, Beatriz Rodriguez, Rufina Rodriguez and Consuelo Rodriguez; grandchildren, Diana, Antonio, Cristabel, Karen, Jesus, Dalia, Joselyn, Stacy, Steven, Edwin, Jason, Marc, Amy, Cristian, Yoltzin, Maria, Jessica, Kimberly, Caroline, Maddison, Javier, William, Anthony, Aylin, Abraham, Adam, Zaid, and Zoel; and great grandchildren, Leonardo, Kaira, and Regina.
