Alex Wade Whitt

Alex Wade Whitt, age 25 of Gatesville, passed away on August 3, 2024. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Ridge Church of Christ with Pastor Deral McWhorter officiating.

Alex was born on March 24, 1999, in Temple, Texas. Alex grew up in Gatesville and graduated in 2017. After graduating from high school where he excelled in wood shop, Alex attended Texas State Technical College and completed his certification in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC). He worked in Bryan College Station, later moving back to Gatesville to pursue work in construction. Alex was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing dominoes and card games.

Alex will be remembered for his funny and quick “whitt” and his thoughtful nature. His greatest joys were spending time with his family on beach vacations and hunting on their deer lease. He loved camping and hiking with his sisters. His favorite stories were his adventures of skydiving, spelunking and climbing. 

Alex was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Verdis Knox Whitt and James Smith, Jr. and his great-grandmother, Helen Baize Smith. 

He is survived by his parents, Brandon and Danielle Whitt; sisters, Ashlie Whitt and Casey Wright; grandparents, Danny and Janet Whitt, Robyn Palady, Mark and Gayla Palady; great-grandmother Anna Beth Whitt; aunts and uncles, Jayme and Jenifer Palady, Jeryn and Kristine Palady, Tanner Palady, and Jamie Whitt; and many cousins.
