Anne Sexton

Anne Sexton, age 81, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021.  Services are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Greenbriar Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM Friday, July 9, 2021 at the funeral home.

Anne was born September 3, 1939 in Gatesville, Texas.  She was the daughter of Amos and Ruth Blackstock McLaughlin.  Anne attended Gatesville High School and Central Texas College.  She married Garland Sexton on November 30, 1960.  Anne worked for the City of Gatesville in many capacities and she retired from CTC as the Assistant to the Director.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Ruth McLaughlin; sister, Joyce Ballard and a great granddaughter, Adelin Woodson; sister-in-law, Donna Jo McLaughlin.

Anne is survived by daughters, Anissa Blanchard and husband Brian and Shelly Byrd and husband Teristin; grandchildren, Robert Janisch III and wife Natalie, Morgan Woodson and husband Cecil, Sheyla Derrick and husband Hunter, Emily Finke, Amanda Ramirez and husband Gerardo, Mary Haven Wicker, Chevy Atterbury and husband Trystan and Ashton McCarley; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Grady L. McLaughlin, Noel R. McLaughlin and Barbara Wright and husband George.
