Arnie Derrickson

Arnold (Arnie) Derrickson, age 59 of Oglesby passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Bruceville Eddy United Methodist Church, with Pastor Robyn Ford officiating.

Arnold James Derrickson, III was born on October 13, 1963 in Waco.  He grew up in Waco and graduated from Richfield High School in 1981.  While in high school, he was an avid member of the debate squad, and his team was UIL 4A State Debate Champions in 1981.  Arnie also participated in the National Forensic Tournament in 1981, Texas Forensic Tournament three years in a row, and while attending Texas A&M participated in National Debate Tournament at UT Arlington.  He worked for Southwestern Bell for many years until his retirement.  He was a member of the Bruceville Eddy United Methodist Church. 

Arnie is survived by his wife, Leanne Searcy Derrickson; mother, Janice Derrickson; father, Jim Derrickson; daughters, April Kassar, Stacey Watson; son, Andy Derrickson; sister, Kathie Johnson; brothers, Russell Collier, Michael Derrickson, Scott Derrickson; and 5 grandchildren.
