Aurelio Ramirez, Sr., age 50, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, after a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 5:00 – 6:00p.m., with a Rosary from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, Gatesville, TX. Aurelio Ramirez, Sr. was born on May 27, 1967 in Puebla City in the state of Puebla, Mexico, and was a legal permanent resident alien of the United States. Mr. Ramirez was a noted agriculture producer, farming pecans, and along with his family was a master agricultural fence builder. His fence building expertise is noted far and wide and will endure for many years to come. He enjoyed outings with his family and river fishing. People enjoyed talking to him, and he was always willing to lend a hand. Aurelio was a strong family man who raised a strong, working family. He was a Catholic, and an honest man all of his life. He will be missed by many in Coryell County. He was preceded in death by his father Tomas Ramirez Sr. Aurelio is survived by his wife, Florina; three sons, Jose Aurelio Ramirez, Jr., Manuel Ramirez, and Gerardo Ramirez and wife Amanda, all of Jonesboro; one daughter, Monica Ramirez of Jonesboro; mother, Bonita Olivares of Mexico; sister, Anna Ramirez of Bryan; four brothers; four sisters; grandson Adrian, two additional grandchildren, and one more on the way.
