Betty Lee

Betty Lee, age 89 of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Gatesville Church of Christ.  Burial will follow at King Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Betty was born on April 9, 1932 in Big Lake, Texas to the late Jewel and Lola Reeves Russell.  As a child, her family moved to Gatesville.  She graduated in 1950 from Gatesville High School and soon after, married her high school sweetheart, Rolan Lee on June 11, 1950.  She loved her church family at the Gatesville Church of Christ.  Her husband preceded her in death on March 31, 2014.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, taking walks and traveling with her husband.  She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her sons, Jerry Lee and wife, Kathy, Robert Lee and wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Kathy Wright, Barbara Jones and husband, Skeet, Susan Meaders and husband, Keith; brother, J. D. Russell; twelve grandchildren, Jerry Lee, Jr. and wife, Ashley, Blake Wright, Jayce Wright and wife, Renee, Matthew Jones and wife, Rachel, Sarah Ryan and husband, Andrew, Jacob Jones, Garrett Lee and wife, Amanda, Travis Lee and wife, Victoria, Rebecca Lee, Seth Meaders and wife, Britney, Nicholas Meaders and wife, Rachel, Tristen Meaders; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
