Billy Wayne Beckett

Billy Wayne Beckett, age 54, of Gatesville, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018.  Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2018 at Greenbriar Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home.Billy was born on September 20, 1963 in Gatesville, Texas to Robert Beckett and Catherine Featherston Smith. He grew up and attended school in Gatesville and McGregor.  He married Peggy Maddison on October 1, 1982.  They enjoyed over 35 years of marriage together.  Billy loved anything to do with fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.  He also loved making knives.  Billy loved his family, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Billy spent some time working for TDCJ and Kaylyn during his working career.  He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Jack Smith.Billy is survived by his wife, Peggy Beckett; daughter, Felicia Davis; sons, Jesse Beckett and Larry Simpson; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren Salem and Chiann; sister, Rebecca Otero; and brothers, Bud Beckett, Jimmy Beckett, and Clayton Smith.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 3919 E.
