Bob Rhudy

Bob Rhudy, age 90 of the Arnett community, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in Waco.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Restland Cemetery, with Rev. Matt Dossey officiating.

Bobby Wayne Rhudy was born on October 30, 1932 in Kosse, Texas to the late Johnny and Gladys Hill Rhudy. He grew up in Kosse and graduated from Kosse High School in 1950.  He joined the U.S. Navy as a reservist before enlisting, then traveling the world before being honorably discharged.  He met the love of his life, Patsy Jean Hall and was married on January 4, 1952 in Dallas.  He was a city carrier for United States Postal Service in downtown Dallas before transferring to Johnson County living in Cleburne to raise his children.  They then moved to Meridian, where Bob was the game warden for seven years, serving Bosque and Hamilton Counties.  With his family, he went back to work for the USPS delivering mail with a rural route serving Lake Waco and the airport. The Rhudy's moved to Levita, when he then transferred to Coryell County working out of the Purmela, Turnerville, Jonesboro, and Gatesville offices until his retirement.  He founded Rhudy Insurance Agency and was a Germania Insurance Agent representative for 35 years.  Bob was also elected as a Coryell County Constable, where he served one term.  As a born again Christian, he was a member of Levita Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Adult II Sunday School teacher and music director.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Jean Rhudy in 2015; grandson, Christopher Rhudy in 2022; and brothers, Douglass Blane Rhudy and J.C. Rhudy.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Gena Sexton and husband, Duane; Rebecca Hunter and husband, Tim; son, David Rhudy and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, KayDee Sexton, Ryan Hunter, Aaron Hunter, Jacob Hunter; and six great grandchildren.
