Bobby Don Golden, age 74, passed away on March 1, 202 at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, Texas.  He was born on May 28, 1949, delivered by a country doctor in a remote cattle ranch in Kiowa County, Colorado.

Bobby was a man of many accomplishments and interests.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army, dedicating seven years of his life to defending the nation and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.  After his honorable discharge, he pursued a successful career with Walmart.

Beyond his professional life, Bobby had a passion for nature and the great outdoors.  He enjoyed spending time fishing and camping with his loved ones.  He had an exceptional ability to connect with people and his warm and welcoming personality made him a cherished friend to many.  In addition to his family, Bobby had a strong sense of community and was actively involved in local organizations.  Bobby was a dedicated dog lover and therapy dog trainer.  One of his many hobbies was performing with his dogs as a volunteer at hospitals and rest homes.

Bobby is survived by two daughters Dona Golden and Brenda Urbanczyk and three grandsons Matthew Golden, Dylan Abernathy, Jacob Abernathy and one great granddaughter, Sunny Abernathy.  He will also be missed by his brothers, Sam Golden and wife Nancy, Bill Golden and wife Carole, John Golden and sister, Betty Cochran.  Also numerous extended family members and friends.

A private celebration of life will be held later at a date to be determined at the Golden Cowhouse Ranch near Pidcoke, Texas.  The family kindly requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Gatesville Boys and Girls Club, 2533 E. Main Street, Gatesville, Texas 76528.

Bobby will be remembered for his keen wit and love of fishing, hunting, dominoes and card games and his positive mental attitude in spite of his disabilities.  His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live in the hearts of all who knew him.
