Brenda Sue Lam

Brenda Sue Lam, age 58 of Gatesville, passed away on the evening of August 15, 2021 from a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Brenda was born the baby of the family on February 19, 1963 in Waco to Willie and Lorene Rueter Sandhoff. She grew up and attended school in Robinson until High School level when she then transferred and graduated from Gatesville in 1981. She married Buddy Lam on April 26, 1985 and they started their family and life together in Gatesville. She worked several different jobs until finding her accounting position at Kalyn-Siebert in July 1998 where she has worked for 23 years.

Brenda lived a fulfilled life. She brought a giving heart and joy wherever she went. Brenda loved to go camping with her family and spend time with her sweet grand babies, those babies were her world. She loved all her furbabies as well. There wasn’t an animal around that she didn’t try to love on, including the deer at the campground. She was the rock to our family and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sandhoff and Lorene Rueter Sandhoff, mother-in-law, Loy Rae Lam; brother-in-law, Bobby Cox.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 36 years, Buddy Lam; father-in-law, H.M. Lam; son, Dustin Lam and wife, Stephanie and their children, Joleen and Jemma; daughter, Stephanie Glass and husband, Jack and their children, Joseph and Brennan; sisters, Virginia Cox, Donna Luedeker and husband, Leroy, Beverly Sandhoff, Rhonda Bird; nephews, Jason Cox, Chris Luedeker; nieces, Jennifer Garrett, Misti Veal; also including many great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
