Gilford Brents Davis, age 82 of Gatesville, passed away peacefully at his home he lovingly restored, on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date, with inurnment at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
Brents was born on March 4, 1938 in Hamilton, to the late Gurley Bourland and Irene Cantrell Davis. He graduated from Gatesville High School and attended Temple Junior College and received a scholarship from Baylor University, studying drama under Paul Baker. He worked as Vice President of Sanger Harris Department Store in Dallas for many years. He and his life partner of 56 years, Desmond Wilcox owned and operated an antique wholesale import business for 20 years. Their antique business took them all over Europe to export antiques until their retirement. They owned a home in England and moved to Gatesville in 1998. Desmond preceded him in death in 2016. In 2017, he and his partner Harold Alexander restored his dream home on Main and Lutterloh in Gatesville. Brents was a proud and active member of the Coryell Museum and Historical Center.
He leaves behind Harold Alexander and his little dog “Wendy”.
