Charlene Vandiver

Charlene Brown Vandiver, age 92 of Oglesby, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020.

Private family services will be held at Davidson Cemetery.

Charlene was born on October 1, 1928 in the Slater community of Coryell County, to the late Charles and Lena Carpenter Brown.  She married Dan D. Vandiver, Sr. on December 30, 1945.  She spent the next 19 years as an Army wife, raising their family.  Her husband preceded her in death in 1993.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Charles K. Vandiver, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Shaelynn Vandiver.

She is survived by her children, Karen Augeri and husband, Joe of Oglesby, Sharon Crow and husband, James of Gatesville, Charles K. Vandiver, Sr. and wife, Melody of Oglesby, Dan D. Vandiver, Jr. of Oglesby, David Vandiver and wife, Glenda of Oglesby; eleven grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren; and her beloved “lapdog”, Petey.
