Chuck Haferkamp

Chuck Haferkamp, age 57, of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, surrounded by his wife and family in Temple.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating.  The family will receive visitors following services at the funeral home.

Chuck was born on July 22, 1962 in Gatesville, to the late Charles and Dolores Keeton Haferkamp.  He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1980.  After graduation, he worked for T.D.C.J. driving a truck, then later driving for Wilsonart in Temple until 2000.  Chuck then went into business for himself, operating Haferkamp Trucking, where he hauled cattle over many states until his death.  He married the love of his life, Shelly Smith Feb. 21, 1998.  He attended Mound Cowboy Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lisa Potter.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly Haferkamp; sons, Tucker Haferkamp, Jarrett Haferkamp and wife, Megan; grandson, Jace Haferkamp; and a half-sister, Cindy Sanders Stone.

Honorary pallbearers that are Chuck’s special friends, Kenneth Dahl, Baron Pate, Jared Hunt, Paul Humes, Cody Lee, Luke Woodson, Casey Bomar, Dennis Luedtke, Jody Thomas, Zach Thomas, Johnny Arnold and Jimbo Stephens.
