Cleo Dyson, age 96 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 in Temple.

Private family graveside services will be held at King Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Skiles officiating.  Honorary pallbearers serving are Kenneth Dyson, John Truscott, Eugene Worthington, Mark Locke, Michael Locke, Brian Locke, Christopher Cathey, Colten Cathey, Charles Ray and Jeff Carpenter.

Cleo was born on October 16, 1923 in the Ater community of Coryell County.  She was the daughter of the late Ernest Earl and Annie Pearl Myers Timmons.  She grew up in the Ater community and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1941.  She married John Dyson and he preceded her in death in 1971.  She obtained her nursing license and worked as a licensed vocational nurse at Coryell Memorial Hospital, until going to work for T.D.C.J. in the medical department for many years until her retirement.  She later went back to work for T.D.C.J. as a clerk in the mail room.  Cleo enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, travel and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the years she also enjoyed the companionship of several furry friends and could often be found sitting on a rocker with a small dog in her lap.  She attended the Tabernacle of Praise Church and Coryell Community Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Worthington and husband Eugene, Glenda Truscott; son, Kenneth Dyson and wife, Cindi; four grandchildren, Mark Locke, John Truscott, Chris Cathey, Wills Cathey; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be designated to The Big Sting, 3417 Imperial Dr., Gatesville, TX 76528.
