Cleo Mae Marshall, age 92, of Gatesville, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 18 at 3 pm at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Davidson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Cleo was born June 26, 1927 in McLean, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Zackery Taylor Jones, Jr. and Flora Louise Walker Jones. Cleo married M. K. (Jiggs) Marshall on May 15, 1948 at the parsonage in McLean, Texas. Over the years Cleo worked at the Medical Plastics Lab, for the American Red Cross, at the Gatesville Public Library, Cole Funeral Home, and as a homemaker and caregiver for her family. She and Jiggs also enjoyed volunteering at the museum. Cleo was an avid reader and especially loved reading her Bible. Singing and recording history and genealogy were some of her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed painting, crafting, sewing and making gifts for her loved ones. Her grandkids, great-grands, and puppies, Lillie and Dolly, were her pride and joy. Cleo always had a camera and loved taking and collecting pictures. She was a longtime member of Pecan Grove Baptist Church and loved the church and congregation. She enjoyed taking walks with Jiggs and collecting “heart” rocks that she later turned into treasures she shared with everyone she knew. Above all else, spending time with her family is what she enjoyed the most. Cleo is survived by daughter, Connie Cummings and husband Fred; son, Kelly Marshall and wife Brenda; daughter-in-law, Mary Murry and husband Jim; special niece Taylor Arnold; dear friend Marsey Rauschenberg; grandsons, Jody Cummings and wife Renee`, Cody Wallace and wife Misty, and Will Davidson and wife Sonia; granddaughters, Casey Smart and husband Kevin, Mindy Marshall, Amy McHugh and husband Sean: great-grandchildren, Jordan and Mykenzie Cummings, Kyla Hinojosa, Maggie and Mollie Ingraham, Kenedi and Caybree Smart, Turner Pete Wallace, Sidnee Almendariz and husband Chris, Emma and Bailey Davidson, Kayson Snyder, Remmie Dawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, M. K. (Jiggs) Marshall; son, Barry Marshall; 3 young brothers; and sisters, Eva Knutson, Velvie Knutson, Florence Malone, Flora Sale, Elsie Guyton and Annie Klucas.
