Colton Clay Smith

Colton Smith, age 26 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Flat.

Colton Clay Smith was born on November 12, 1998 to Jeffery Smith and Tiffani Chambliss in Temple, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 2017. After graduation, he went to work at Sanderson Farms in Bellmead and later as a cook for Pizza Hut. He also worked as a grounds man for Affordable Tree Services. Colton was a fun-loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite memories was being voted “class clown” while in Jr. High and High School. He also enjoyed playing video games and loved being outdoors. He was an active member of the youth group at First Baptist Church of Flat.

Colton was preceded in death by his mother, Tiffani Chambliss; uncle, Greg Smith; and grandparents, Ronald Travis Chambliss and JoAnn Cole.

He is survived by his father, Jeffery Smith; twin sister, Katelynne Smith; sisters, JoziAnn Smith, and AnnaJo Smith; brother, Joshua Coalston; aunt, Sherri Porter and husband, Jason; grandparents, Harold Baustian and wife, Tanya; and many cherished friends and family.
