David Davidson, age 53, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Davidson Cemetery.
David Walter Davidson was born on August 19, 1971 in Texas City, Texas to Walter and Pat Davidson. He attended grade school at Bay Area Christian School in League City, Texas. When he and his family moved to Alaska, he attended high school at Grace Christian School and graduated from Dimond High School. He enjoyed playing basketball in school. Being the only boy in his family, he was the pride and joy of his dad. They went on all kinds of adventures together; from hunting and fishing in Alaska to driving the Alaska-Canadian Highway in three days, which is quite a feat! His dad even took David hunting in Africa after his high school graduation. In recent years, they shared many conversations about their adventures and how much fun they had. On any given fall Saturday, they would be together watching college football cheering on the Baylor Bears!
David was also the pride and joy of his mom. They had a close bond that was incomparable. It probably started with how hard she prayed over him while pregnant. After previous miscarriages, God answered her prayers for a full-term baby. They have been inseparable ever since. Throughout the years, they spent countless hours talking about everything under the sun, but their favorite thing to do together was to cheer on the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Baylor football and basketball teams.
David's children, Anna and Ty, gave him much happiness! He loved taking Anna to the beach when she was little, especially the time in Hawaii. He loved cheering on Ty as he watched countless baseball games and home runs. David had a strong faith in Jesus to the day he went to meet him face to face. He was so happy that they both had accepted Jesus into their heart when they were young. He prayed for them frequently and cherished their texts and calls. David will be in heaven watching their future unfold with excited anticipation.
David pursued his post-secondary education at Wayland Baptist University at Plainview, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in social work and later obtaining his master’s degree in nursing home administration. David loved people and it showed throughout the 20 years he was a nursing home administrator. Both residents and staff knew he cared for them in the way he would smile, share an encouraging word or scripture, or just a listening ear.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Iris Brittain; paternal grandparents, Gus and Stella Mae Davidson; and uncles, Gus Jr. and Johnny Davidson.
Those that will cherish the memories and love he shared are his daughter, Anna Davidson; son, Ty Davidson; parents, Walter and Pat Davidson; sisters, Rebecca Flynt and her husband Ron and their children, Justin, Brandon, Meaghan, Matthew and Andi, and Hollie Jones and her husband Philip and their children, Mason and his wife Caitlin and Sydney; and extended family, friends, and co-workers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coryell Community Church, 115 N. Levita Rd., Gatesville, Texas 76528 or to a charity of your choice.
