David Witty

David Witty, age 71, of Evant, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 30, 2020 at his residence. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 2 to 4 PM at The First United Methodist Church in Evant, Texas. David Linvel Witty, born January 11,1949, in Goldthwaite, Tx to Norris Witty and Lenora Brown Witty. He graduated from Star High School and served his country as a Navy Seabee in Vietnam. On his return, he met Joy Blanchard and told his parents that night he found the woman he was going to marry. They were married in Ireland, Tx on March 7, 1970 and celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this year. David Worked many years at Henry Welding company in Goldthwaite, retired as a Sargeant from TDCJ Gatesville and then worked several years at the Hamilton Commission Company. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. Beloved by all who knew him, he will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Witty and sister Ava Witty Lynn. He is survived by his wife Joy Witty, son Gregory Witty of Star, daughter Lindsey Witty of New Braunfels, sister Katherine Witty, brother Jimmy Witty and wife Elita, brother Richard Witty and wife Audrey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
