Dewey H. Jones

Dewey H. Jones, age 82 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Waco.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Restland Cemetery, with Rev. Matt Dossey officiating.

Dewey was born on March 10, 1938 in Levita, to the late Oda and Gena Rogers Jones.  He went to school at Ireland and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1958.  He married Patsy Wihing on July 25, 1964.  He served in the Texas Army National Guard and was called up for active duty in 1961 and again in 1969.  Dewey was a civil service employee at Ft. Hood in Road and Building Maintenance, retiring with 31 years of service.  He was a fifty plus year member of Gatesville Masonic Lodge #197 A.F. & A.M.

Dewey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Jones; sons, Rob Jones and wife, Alexandra of Waco, Jimmy Jones and wife, Lynn of Gatesville; two grandchildren, Cameron and Lauren Jones; and a great granddaughter, Riley.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated memorials be made to the individuals favorite charity.
