Dolores Laverne Haferkamp

Dolores L. Haferkamp, age 85 formally of Gatesville, passed away March 3, 2019, in Bandera, TX. Services will be 3:00p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  A private family burial will follow. Dolores was born on December 18, 1933 in Pearl, to the late Walter Elmore and Audie Blakely Keeton.  She grew up in Pearl and attended school in Pearl and Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1951.  Dolores lived life to the fullest, from her days as a Rodeo Sweetheart, barrel racing and dancing; to working for and retiring from Coryell County after many years in the District Attorney’s office and the Abstract office.  Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married Charles Haferkamp May 29, 1959 in Coryell City; they spent 36 years together before he preceded her in death.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Haferkamp; and daughter, Lisa Potter. Dolores is survived by her son, Chuck Haferkamp and wife Shelly; stepdaughter, Cindy Sanders Stone; granddaughter, Amanda McDonald and husband Don; grandsons, Jarrett and Tucker Haferkamp; step granddaughter Crystal Knight; greatgrandchildren, Jace Haferkamp, Hunter and Grace McDonald.
