Don Hartis

Don Hartis, age 83 of Gatesville, passed away on January 31, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3 at Restland Cemetery with Pastor Kurt Fuessel officiating.

Don was born on July 15, 1941, to the late Raymond and Effie Hartis. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Petree, on June 21, 1963, and this year they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Don and Carolyn had one son, Greg, also of Gatesville. They owned and operated Don’s Grocery and Meat Market for over 30 years. Don loved antique cars, especially ‘56 Chevys. He had three of them over the years. Don proudly served in the United States Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky from October 1966 to October 1968 and he was a member of Mountain Baptist Church.

Don is survived by his wife Carolyn and his son Greg.
