Donald "Don" E. Leigh

Donald “Don” Leigh, age 80 of Gatesville, passed away on the morning of December 28, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donald was born on November 9, 1940 in Rochester, NY. He lived a full life from the East Coast to the West Coast and then planted roots in Gatesville, TX. Don loved the outdoors; riding his motorcycle on the open road, taking his sailboat out on the ocean, camping in the desert with his family and friends, and flying his Cessna airplane high in the clouds. Don never met a stranger and if you ever needed a hand, he was there to lend you one (or both) of his.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Elliott; son, Donnie Peterson; and brother, Richard Leigh.

Don is survived by his wife, Fay Leigh; his children, Michael Leigh, Nancy Napoli, Ralph Leigh, Chris Leigh, Laurie Leigh, Leah Matthews and Rachael Meade; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
