Donna Koharu Toso, Née Noda, age 87, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Gatesville.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
Donna was born in Akaike, Tagawa, Fukuoka, Japan on February 26, 1935. She married Chester Leroy Toso on July 25, 1958. They were married in Japan, but moved to the United States shortly thereafter. They traveled extensively throughout their marriage due to Chester’s career in the USMC. They lived in Japan, California, Ohio, Texas, Hawaii, Minnesota and Nevada. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage until Chester’s death in 2012.
Donna was a multi-talented woman. She was especially adept in the art of Japanese flower arranging, the craft of sewing, and the joy of cooking from the heart. Donna used her gifts throughout her life to express her love to her many family members and friends. Everybody who knew her loved her fried rice and egg rolls. She loved to bake and decorate cakes for birthdays, graduations, and weddings. Gambling at a casino was also a hobby she enjoyed. Most importantly, Donna fiercely loved her family. She was happiest when she spent time gathered together with her husband, children, and grandchildren—often eating, laughing, and sharing old stories.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Toso and a granddaughter, Alissa Noelle Toso Youngblood.
She is survived by her children, Calvin Toso and wife, Marilee of Versailles, Kentucky, Deborah Hine and husband, Todd of Gatesville, Texas, and Naomi Rajsky and husband, Patrick of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Christopher Toso and wife, Maggie of Bangkok, Thailand, Joshua Toso and wife, Sara of Versailles, Kentucky, Ashley Tipton and husband, Shane of Denver, Colorado, Amanda Hine of Waco, Texas, Tatum Rajsky and Patrick Rajsky, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; great grandchildren, Jacob Youngblood, Luke Youngblood, Elaina Toso, Emma Toso, Ash Tipton, and Eros Hine.
